چکیده
The formation of a protective chromium carbide passive film makes austenitic stainless steel (ASS) alloys suitable for corrosive and high-temperature environments. This paper examined the transformation microstructure, corrosion, mechanical properties gas tungsten arc welded 316 steel. scientific principles governing metallurgical corrosion dynamics were discussed. review shows that on 316L ASS gradually erodes as concentration chloride ion rises. Metallurgical FZ are completely changed, solid-state occurs at HAZ during GTA welding process. These transformations affect alloys.

DETERIORATION OF PITTING CORROSION OF 316 STAINLESS STEEL BY SENSITIZATION HEAT TREATMENT
In this research pitting Corrosion of a sensitized 316 stainless steel was investigated employing potentiodynamic, potentiostatic techniques. Sensitization process was carried out on as-received alloy by submitting the specimen in electric furnace set at 650°Cfor five hours and then the specimen was quenched 25°C water. Potentiodynamic polarization of as received and sensitized specimens in 1M ...
متن کاملCorrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel in sulphuric acid
The resistance and susceptibility of austenitic stainless steel, Type 304, exposed to strong tetraoxosulphate (VI) acids (2 and 5 M concentrations) contaminated with sodium chloride at ambient temperatures was investigated by gravimetric and metallographic/scanning electron microscopy surface characterization methods. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to examine and characterize the t...
متن کاملEffect of Weld Metal Microstructure on the Fatigue and Corrosion-Fatigue Properties of GTA-Welded 304 Stainless Steel
In this research, two different filler metals, ERNiCrMo-3 and ER309L, were used for developing different microstructure, austenite (γ) and austenite and ferrite (γ+δ) in the weld metal and fatigue properties of welded samples were evaluated in the air and sea water environments. Microstructural studies indicated a good agreement between predicted microstructures via schiffler diagram and metall...
